Digital Imaging —

File Preparation & Retouching




We offer digital file preparation and retouching services to get your artwork or photography print-ready. Work is usually carried out via email, with phone consultation or in-person sessions available if needed.






File Preparation
File preparation focuses on the layout, not adjustments to the image itself. This includes:

  • Resizing
  • Straightening
  • Cropping
  • Adding borders

Minimum charge: 5 minutes ($8.00).

If adjustments to the image are needed, they will fall under Retouching.






Retouching
Image adjustments and corrections to achieve optimal print results. This includes, but isn’t limited to:

  • Background tone and texture removal
  • Dust and scratch removal
  • Colour correction, including fixing colour casts, chromatic aberration, and banding
  • Compositing multiple captures into a complete image
  • Adding digital signatures for editioning.

Minimum charge: 15 minutes ($24.00)


Pricing

Both File Preparation and Retouching are priced at $96 per hour.

  • File Preparation has a minimum charge of 5 minutes ($8.00).
  • Retouching has a minimum charge of 15 minutes ($24.00).

File preparation typically takes around 5 minutes per file and is completed before invoicing. Retouching may take longer, depending on the work’s complexity, and will be invoiced once complete. We’ll provide a quote before starting, and the time listed is the maximum charge; if it takes less, we’ll adjust the final price.






Guidance via Email

We’re happy to review your files and offer general guidance via email at no charge. This includes tips on file setup, suggestions for optimal printing, or answering any basic questions you may have.

If your request requires more extensive feedback or additional time or resources, or if you have a large number of files needing our input, we’ll provide you with a quote before proceeding.
